Two UCP Affiliates Create A Summer Camp Experience For All
On the Voices of UCP blog, UCP Summer Intern Sara Shemali takes a look at the summer camp programs offered at UCP of Delaware and UCP of Mobile. Each camp helps to meet the needs of children with disabilities, with UCP of Mobile’s Camp Smile open exclusively to children with disabilities. At UCP of Delaware’s Camp Lenape and Camp Manito, children with and without disabilities are welcomed to take part in activities. UCP Summer Interns Visit Capitol Hill

POLICY UPDATE

 

 

Two weeks ago, UCP joined a lobby day with the ITEM/HAB/CPR coalitions. We attended small group meetings with HELP Committee Chairman Lamar Alexander’s staff, as well as other Member offices, to discuss the benefits of habilitative and rehabilitative services and supports and our concerns with the proposals circulating in the Senate. The related Congressional Staff Briefing was a packed house!

UCP of the Inland Empire Presents Bikes to Children with Disabilities

 

UCP of the Inland Empire has presented five children with various disabilities with new adaptive bicycles as part of the annual Tour de Palm Springs race in California. The funds raised from Tour de Palm Springs event made it possible for the five children, as well as three others, to be fitted for their custom bikes. All of the recipients are planning to participate in the race next year with their new bikes. Read More…

UCP has put together #KnowMedicaid, a guide of the various government agencies in each state that are responsible for overseeing Medicaid.

 

This guide includes contact information as well as pertinent links. Please note that while this guide is extensive, it may not include every agency involved in the Medicaid process.
