Greetings,

n

United Cerebral Palsy of Berkshire County and the REquipment Durable Medical Equipment Reuse Program are co-sponsoring a durable medical equipment donation drive to celebrate Earth Day. The donation drive will be held Saturday, April 21 from 10 to 2:00 at UCP’s branch office at 535 Curran Highway, North Adams. We are seeking donations of gently used equipment such as power and manual wheelchairs, scooters, tub seats and shower chairs, sling lifts, rollators, etc. We do not accept canes, crutches, walkers, commodes or hospital beds. Let’s celebrate the Earth and keep this equipment out of landfills while giving it a second life for those that need it!

n

We need your help spreading the word about this event. Here are some things you can do:

n

1) post the event on your Facebook page, website or in your newsletter

2) place event flyers in your waiting areas for people to take- we will send you as many copies as you need

3) have staff take flyers and pass out at events and home visits

4) share this email with colleagues; friends and people you think would be interested in donating used medical equipment.

n

For those that have equipment that they are not able to deliver please contact us at info@dmereuse.org or complete a donation form at www.dmereuse.org and we will arrange pick up for another day.

n

Attached is the event flyer in English and Spanish. Please feel free to share.

n

All donations will be evaluated, sanitized and given away for free to those that need it. Available equipment is posted on our online inventory at www.dmereuse.org. Residents of Berkshire County will be given first priority for this equipment.

n

Thank you in advance for your assistance in getting the word out about this donation drive that is funded by a Qualify of Life grant from the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. If you have any questions you can contact Jen Baker, REquipment Program Director, at 800-261-9841 or Louise Norton, UCP Director of Assistive Technology at 413 442-5162.
