The Assistive Technology (AT) Specialist position encompasses direct implementation of services including consumer screening and intake, functional assessments, assistive technology evaluations, purchase/procurement of required AT devices, set-up of devices, orientation and training for consumer and anyone providing support to consumer, technical support by phone or in person, and documentation and evaluation of all services provided. Additionally, this position helps in the computer training for consumers, staff and other agencies as requested. The position requires the assisting of consumers to maximize their ability to control their environment and achieve self-determined goals.
Bachelor’s degree in related field plus three years successful experience in human service or education. Other qualified applicants may include SLP/SLPA, OT/OTA
Five years successful management experience in human service or education may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
Knowledge of community social services, education and health service agencies
Demonstrated ability to communicate and organize programs for the public
Valid driver’s license, availability of private vehicle, up-to-date car insurance and proof of annual vehicle inspection required
Ability to work flexible hours
Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Publisher and advanced keyboarding skills
